Yacoob Yachts Plan Your Cruises

Types Of Cruises

Scheduled trips out to sea
Join us for a cruise along the Cape coastline and experience breathtaking panoramic views of the winding coast and its iconic Table Mountain. Trip times may vary according to season, weather conditions, and special events. Generally we have a mid-morning; lunchtime; and afternoon scheduled trip per vessel. Trips are 60 minutes in duration on the Pirate Boat; and 60 minutes in duration on the Tigresse and Ameera Catamarans.

Contact us on 021 421 0909 or go to webtickets.co.za for our daily schedule.
Harbour Cruises
Tommy the Tugboat runs 30-minute harbour trips, departing from the basin at Two Oceans Aquarium and touring attractions up to the breakwater. A cruise on Tommy the Tugboat provides a fun guided tour of Cape Town's working harbour including trips to see seals on wheels and the fishing fleets that make the harbour their home. Ideal for young children and school groups.
Sunset Cruises
Our 90-minute sunset cruises provide an ultimate view of the African sunset, with Table Bay as the backdrop. Enjoy a sundowner whilst soaking in the breath-taking surroundings and the gentle sounds of the ocean. Sunset cruises are offered on the Tigresse, Ameera, and Jolly Roger.
Private Charters
Hire a vessel exclusively for your special event, birthday party, bachelors, or corporate function. Call or visit our bookings office to discuss your requirements.

Office hours: Our bookings office is open from 9 - 5pm in winter months, and 9 - 7pm in the summer months. We are open 7 days a week.

Cruising hours: Scheduled trips run between 10am and the evening sunset cruise daily. The sunset cruise departure time varies with season, departing at 7pm in the height of summer, and 5.00pm on the shortest winter days.

Our hours are flexible for private charters - where guests can choose their own schedule and keep the party alive well after sunset.

Directions & Parking

Nearest parking:

There is plenty of parking in and around the V&A Waterfront - the closest to us being the underground parking below the Victoria and Alfred mall.

Parking on a budget: Should you be prepared to walk a little further, you will find the "R10" parking lot across the road from the Table Bay hotel. This will significantly reduce your parking spend if you plan on a longer visit.

Directions: Yacoob Yachts offices are located at Shop 8, Quay 5, V&A Waterfront.

You will find us on Quay 5, nestled between Sevruga and Seelan restaurants. Our flagship vessels, Tigresse and Jolly Roger are moored at Quay 5 - and you will easily spot them if they are not out on a trip. Look out for the branded ticket boxes that stand on the Quayside in front of the boats moorings - here you can enquire or buy a ticket for the next trip. If you struggle to find us, there are plenty of helpful security guards as well as information stations in the V&A Waterfront that can direct you.

See below map showing our office location on Quay 5 in the V&A Waterfront:

What Will I See

Expect breath-taking panoramic views of Table Mountain and the surrounding coastline. Dependent on the direction of your cruise, you may spot Robben Island, Granger Bay, Bantry Bay and Clifton. We often sight dolphins, whales and other marine life - however this is according to season (whales) and their personalities on the day (dolphins)! Other than that, there is always a mandatory friendly greeting from boats passing by.

A cruise on the Jolly Roger pirate boat will in addition entertain pirate fantasies with a 10-minute pirate reenactment.

What happens in the event of bad weather or mechanical failure?

All trips are subject to weather conditions. We cannot go out in high swells or foggy conditions. Existing ticket holders will have the option to reschedule or refund in such circumstances. Taking the above into consideration, we strive to accommodate poorer weather conditions as much as possible. We have protective canopies to block rain and wind on most vessels.

If weather is poor on the day of your kiddies party or private function, we will suggest a harbour cruise rather than going out to sea, and will put up our protective canopies so that you can still enjoy your function whilst moored in the harbour (at a discounted rate).

As much as we strive to keep our boats in tip-top condition, in the event of mechanical failure, you would have the option to refund or reschedule.

Are we wheelchair friendly?

We do not have dedicated wheelchair ramps, however the Jolly Roger Pirate Boat is most accessible for wheelchairs – where our crew will be happy to assist with boarding.

What should I wear?

We suggest flat shoes (high heels off please ladies), and bring a jacket or cardigan in case it gets chilly. Even on sunny days, it can get chilly out at sea whilst the boat is moving. Bikinis and boardies welcome, just make sure you have a warmer layer in case!

What about small children, can they come with?

Yes, however we ask that children under 12 years be supervised by an adult at all times.

Can I get something to eat & drink on board?

We have cash bars on the Jolly Roger, Tigresse and Ameera. On other boats you will need to bring your own beverages. We can arrange catering for private charters and kiddies parties, however on daily scheduled trips we do not provide any food. You are welcome to bring your own snacks along, just take care to dispose of them in the bins provided.

Where do we sail to?

Cruise destinations are dependent on wind direction, and duration. We depart from Table Bay Harbour, and generally go in the direction of Bantry Bay - where we turn around and return to Table Bay. If you privately charter the vessel for longer, you have the option of destination, and can moor in Clifton or Granger Bay to enjoy lunch and a swim.

What if I want the boat all to myself?

What if I want the boat all to myself? This is possible if you book a private charter. You will be charged an hourly rate and will have the boat exclusively to yourself and your chosen guests. Our skippers and deckhands will be included in the charter rate, and will maintain control of the vessel.

Can we take photos?

Yes! But always best to have your camera on a neck strap to prevent it from dropping into the ocean. Our souvenir photograph provider, Ypix will capture you boarding your cruise, and will have photos available for purchase on your return.
